Unified is held every term time Friday from 7:30 to 10:00pm and is open to anyone in school year 7 and above.
Purpose
To create a meeting where young people can come and get to know and understand God personally.
Aims
To help and guide young people in their Christian walk, to let them grow and realise the awesome potential God has given them.
To tell those that have no knowledge of God all about him: About his love, his power and the awesome plans he has for them.
Our meetings focus on God and the Bible, in a relevant and youthy way. We aim to 'deliver' the message in an interesting and fun way, appropriate to young people. Youth learn best by 'doing', therefore we try to teach through 'doing'. We frequently use 'small groups' to help us to get to know each other and to lay down the importance of prayer in a Christian's life.
Meetings consist of activities, challenges, ice breakers, prayer time, a 'preach', small groups and anything else related to the above aims.
God is central to everything we do and plan and we aim to guide and direct the youth to become awesome men and women for God.
The second part of the meeting is purely 'social' where we have the opportunity to get to know the youth better as they play pool, table tennis, games consoles and have fun with their mates.
Throughout the year we have specials, socials, outreaches, youth events and weekends away. Young people play a big part in the youth ministry, as we realise it is important to give them opportunities to let them grow and develop individually.
We have just launched our brand new band called Ignite. Ignite play once a month at Unified, having a whole evening dedicated to them, called 'Ablaze'. These have proved to be great inspiring and challenging times so far, and create a great environment for young people to praise and worship God: Another key part of the youth ministry.
Unified is run by an awesome team of leaders, all with their own giftings and abilities as well as different backgrounds and experiences.
