The Church began in 1930 after a series of evangelistic meetings conducted by Evangelist Fred Squire. Soon after a small group of Christians sharing the same vision and doctrinal beliefs began meeting in an old factory in West Street, then moving to a rented hall in Mill Road. Eventually in 1956 the growing congregation moved into its own building in St Johns Street. During 1996 the church moved again to larger premises in Havelock Street.
Today, we are a vibrant Church of over 350 people representing a wide range of ages, cultures and backgrounds. Ian Hicks is Senior Minister and has been leading the Reachout Community Church since 1979.
